Time is Experience...
In the 1920s my great grandparents Angelo and Mary Covino, out of their own home, started a restaurant in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Their children, my great uncles, operated different concessions in the area: Veil's kitchen in Edison, on Route 27 was operated by Butch Covino in the 1950s. Early 1960 Charlie and Jim (Vincent) Covino took over Veils Kitchen. Butch and Pete Covino took over the Bamboo Restaurant on Route One in Edison. Also, Harry & Jen Covino had the J & H Luncheonette on Georges Road, North Brunswick, New Jersey. In 1969, Charlie & Jim Covino started Covino's Restaurant, with my Grandfather Al Covino, until 1987.
Today, my great grandparents…picture hangs proudly in my restaurant as I am proud to make the connection with my family history in the business.
Welcome back to Hospitality and good food! We can accommodate an intimate dinner for two or arrange a private affair for 100.
Covino's prides itself on having fresh product cooked to order.
Although our menu has a strong sense of variety and flexibilty, we offer an eclectic italian menu, we would be happy to alter or take suggestions on any dish!
We have the attention to detail you are looking for. Sit back and let us introduce you to old fashioned hospitality!
